Publication Ethics

Ethics statement CAPTURE : Jurnal Seni Media Rekam is published by Pusat Penerbitan, Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat, dan Pengembangan Pendidikan dan Penjaminan Mutu ( LP2MP3M ) Institut Seni Indonesia ( ISI ) Surakarta. This statement was adapted from the COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors which includes the code of ethics for chief editor, editorial board, reviewers and authors. Standards of ethical behavior need to be agreed upon by all of parties involved in the publishing act as a form of commitment to ensure that all procedures are carried out objectively and intellectually. All manuscripts are evaluated regardless of races, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or certain political and group interest. Turnitin software is used to avoid plagiarism.

Duties of Chief Editor

  1. Holds responsibility for efficient and effective journal policy and management.
  2. Responsible for deciding when and which manuscripts to publish.
  3. Bertanggung jawab atas semua yang diterbitkan di jurnal.
  4. Guarantee all manuscripts are evaluated with fairness, objectivity, unbiased, transparency and timely purely based on their intellectual merit (importance, originality, validity, novelty, clarity) and its relevance to the journal’s scope.
  5. Ensure all manuscripts are reviewed by peer-reviewers who have the relevant competence.
  6. Encourage peer-reviewers to ensure the originality of submissions and be alert to redundant publication and plagiarism.

 

Duties of Editor Board

  1. Evaluate all submitted manuscripts based on their intellectual merit (importance, originality, study’s validity, clarity) and its relevance to the journal’s scope.
  2. Ensure all submitted manuscripts undergo peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers who are expert in the field.
  3. Make editorial decisions at a reasonable pace and communicate them in a clear and constructive manner.
  4. Treat all authors with fairness, politeness, objectivity, honesty and transparency.
  5. Actively contributing to the development of journals to make it bigger and more competitive.
  6. Continuously support and promote the journal to all stakeholders.

 

Duties of Reviewers 

  1. Assisting editors in making editorial decisions on the submitted manuscripts.
  2. Provide a review to show the relative strengths or weaknesses of the manuscripts.
  3. Present reviews objectively by expressing a clear view with supporting arguments.
  4. Helping the authors to improve the quality of the manuscripts, according to the professional expertise of the reviewers.
  5. Reviewers may refuse to review manuscripts if there is a conflict of interest or insufficient knowledge.
  6. Ensure the authenticity of manuscripts and guard against plagiarism.
