PERANCANGAN BATIK DENGAN SUMBER INSPIRASI CERITA RAKYAT DAN FLORA FAUNA INDONESIA

ABSTRAK
Artikel ini mendiskusikan enam desain yang semuanya merupakan desain motif batik yang bertema cerita rakyat dan flora fauna Indonesia. Keseluruhan desain mengolah bentuk-bentuk dari cerita rakyat, meliputi Keong Mas, Timun Mas, dan Kancil Mencuri Timun sebagai motif utama yang menggunakan karakter desain dekoratif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini adalah teknik batik tulis yang melalui tiga tahap metode, yaitu: metode perancangan, konsep perancangan, dan visualisasi. Teknik pewarnaan dengan dicolet menggunakan zat warna remasol. Bahan menggunakan kain primisima, karena kain tersebut memiliki sifat mudah menyerap pewarna sehingga mudah digunakan untuk membuat kain batik.

ABSTRACT
This article discusses six designs in which each of the batik pattern designs themed in Indonesian folklores and flora and fauna. The whole designs process the form of folklores such as Keong Mas, Timun Mas, and Kancil Mencuri Timun as the main batik patterns applied in each folklores’ characters and decorations. Written batik is employed as the technical making process through three steps methods of method of designing, concept designing, and visualization. The coloring technique engaged by dabbing the coloring substance known as remazol. The material included is the primissima cloth since it is has highly absorbance characteristic which suits to remazol coloring.
