Abstract

ABSTRAK

Latar belakang proyek ini adalah merancang inovasi motif tekstil menggunakan serat alam sanseviera. Hasil dari perancangan ini untuk menambah keragaman tekstil ramah lingkungan dan mendukung gerakan back to nature. Perancangan ini menghasilkan enam desain untuk tekstil serat sanseviera dengan motif yang terinspirasi ragam hias Toraja. Teknik yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini adalah teknik tenun timbul yang diproduksi dengan alat tenun kamba. Bahan utamanya adalah serat sanseviera dan bahan pendamping adalah benang katun. Perancangan ini tidak menggunakan bahan pewarna untuk menonjolkan sisi natural serat sanseviera.

ABSTRACT

Background of this project is to design a inovation textile pattern using sanseviera fibers. The results of this design is expected to increase the variety of eco-friendly textiles and supports back to nature action. This project produced six design for textile made using sanseviera fibers with a pattern inspired by Toraja ornament. Design using weaving techniques with kamba tools. Main material is using sanseviera fibers, and for second material is using cotton yarn. This design doesn’t use dye to show the natural side of sanseviera fibers.
