Abstract

Pelaksanaan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat yang dibiayai DIPA ISI Surakarta tahun 2015 telah terlaksanayang berkonsentrasi pada pengentasan peningkatan kualitas produk dan produksi melalui pengembangandesain. Industri pengecoran logam milik bapak Anwar di Desa Tegalrejodan Tampiran, Kec. Ceper, Kab.Klaten hingga kini masih eksis sebagai perusahaan industry pengecoran logam, meskipun dalamperkembangannya pernah mengalami jatuh bangun dihantam krisis ekonomi tetapi hingga kini masih bisaberjalan. Permasalahan signifikan yang menjadi fokus dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu desain yangberkembang adalah desain dari buyer dimana pengrajin banyak merasa kesulitan dalam menerjemahkangambar dari buyer, dan yang lebih parah lagi banyak pengrajin yang ikut-ikutan membuat dengan menirutanpa ijin dari pemilik desain. Beberapa perusahaan cor logam khususnya yang menangani order dengandesain rumit khususnya produk interior sangat langka, dikarenakan kesulitan dalam desain, apalagi masihminimnya tenaga napel(pembuat cetakan sampel). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalahupaya konkrit pemecahan masalah melalui pelatihan desain khusus produk interior utamanya studi napeldan pengembangan desain produk cor logam. Target kegiatan ini adalah terpenuhi pengetahuan desain(gambar kerja) dan ketrampilannapel melalui pelatihan .pelatihan ini memiliki tujuansocial constructivesecara berkelanjutan, melalui pelatihan akan diperoleh bibit perintis tenaga napel yang memang jarang dansangat dibutuhkan bagi semua perusahan cor logam. Melalui metode pendekatan yang meliputi pendekatanpartisipasif, pendekatan lapangan ( survey lokasi) danFGD untuk menentukan bentuk desain yang mampumengakomodasi kepentingan pengrajin. Melalui metode tersebut dilakukan kegiatan seperti :1) Melakukanidentifikasi desain sesuai kebutuhan pasar , menyusun konsep desain cor logam ; 2) Menyusun materipelatihan, pelatihan pengembangan desain motif yang kearah produk pelengkap interior dan furnitur ;3)Menyusun rencana produksi melalui gambar kerja; Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah prototype karya desaincor logamKata kunci: pengembangan desain, cor logam, pelatihan desain
