Abstract Photography artwork titled “Imaji Cityscape†with Rayograph Technique was an effort in order to provide new discourse in photography, especially related to analog photography which had long displaced with the advance of digital technology. Digital technology facilitated all the process of creating photography but indirectly removed an essence of photography itself. This time by doing the creation using a darkroom technique, creation methods that were used including ideas, exploration, experimentation, as well as creation stages that included sketching, printing, and displaying. Creating artwork using rayograph technique did not use the camera to create, but used enlargers for the printing process, referring to the definition of photography itself that was to paint using light. This rayograph technique created images with cityscape theme or city scene. By using objects placed on photo paper, the most important thing was to considerate the figures that was fitted to what had been described in the previous sketch. A special feature of the rayograph technique was the effect of shadows generated from objects placed on photo paper which were then exposed. Cityscape image would help created rayograph artworks by displaying imaginative reflexion. Cityscape or real city scenery became a distinctive image because this rayograph technique would  be produced high contrast hence the detail would hardly be found, so it would appeared as very thick black and white picture with the firm lines created from recorded object placed and arranged on paper. Keywords: Photography, rayograph, light, cityscape.Downloads
