Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Section A: Publication and authorship 

  1. Naskah publikasi ilmiah memuat etika akademik dengan informasi yang lengkap, asli, dan objektif. (Scientific publication manuscripts contain academic ethics with complete, original and objective information).
  2. Penulis wajib mematuhi persyaratan artikel publikasi ilmiah Citrawira adalah asli dan belum dipublikasikan di manapun dalam format bahasa apa pun. Dengan kata lain naskah belum atau tidak pernah diterbitkan pada jurnal ilmiah lainnya dalam waktu yang sama. (Authors must comply with the requirements of Citrawira's scientific publication articles are original and have not been published anywhere in any language format.In other words, the manuscript has not been or has never been published in other scientific journals at the same time).
  3. Artikel yang diterbitan melibatkan beberapa peneliti wajib dimasukkan dalam tim penulis bersama. (Published articles involving several researchers must be included in the co-authoring team).
  4. Artikel publikasi ilmiah yang diusulkan penulis wajib menghindari pemalsuan seperti manipulasi bahan penelitian, peralatan, proses, mengubah/make up data, atau dengan sengaja membuang data atau hasil penelitian. (Scientific publication articles proposed by the author must avoid falsification such as manipulation of research materials, equipment, processes, alter / make up of data, or deliberately discard data or research results).
  5. Penulis wajib menghindari plagiarisme yaitu mengambil ide, proses, hasil atau kata-kata dari orang lain tanpa mengutip sumber utama secara jelas atau dengan kata lain menyalin dan menggunakan materi dari artikel lain tanpa izin.(Authors are required to avoid plagiarism, namely taking ideas, processes, results or words from others without clearly citing the main source or in other words copying and using material from other articles without permission).
  6. Penulis wajib untuk menghindari sebuah fragmentasi berbagai tema naskah hasil dari beberapa proyek penelitian, maka perlu untuk melakukan identifikasi secara jelas dari hasil penelitian tersebut dengan merujuk dari publikasi utama. (The author must avoid the fragmentation of various themes of the research paper, so it is necessary to carry out clear research from the results of the research with the publication of the main publication).
  7. Kutipan harus dikutip secara benar yang diperoleh dari penelitian sebelumnya disebabkan keterlibatan peneliti itu sendiri. (Citation must be cited correctly which is obtained from previous research due to the involvement of the researcher himself).
  8. Kutipan atau referensi yang ditulis oleh penulis tidak boleh mengutip begitu saja jika belum membaca dari sumber naskah utama.(Quotations or references written by the author should not simply quote if they have not read from the source of the main text).
  9. Penggunaaan materi hasil ciptaan (Hak Cipta) berwujud tabel, grafik, gambar, kutipan atau lainnya, wajib dengan izin dan pengakuan yang sesuai. Dengan demikian hukum dari konvensi hak cipta harus dipatuhi dengan baik yang berasal dari peneliti lain dan tidak boleh seolah-olah disajikan itu milik sendiri. (The use of copyrighted material in the form of tables, graphics, pictures, quotes or others, must be subject to appropriate permission and acknowledgment. Thus the laws of copyright conventions must be obeyed properly those originating from other researchers and should not be presented as if they were presented as their own).
  10. Jika sumber pendanaan penelitian ada dan termasuk dukungan keuangan langsung maupun  tidak langsung, pasokan peralatan dan atau material dukungan lainnya maka harus disebutkan.(If the source of research funding exists and includes direct or indirect financial support, equipment supplies and / or other support materials, this should be indicated).

Section B: Authors’ responsibilities

  1. Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work.
  2. Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere.
  3. Authors must certify that the manuscript is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere. 
  4. Authors must participate in the peer review process. 
  5. Authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.
  6. All Authors mentioned in the paper must have significantly contributed to the research.
  7. Authors must state that all data in the paper are real and authentic.
  8. Authors must notify the Editors of any conflicts of interest.
  9. Authors must identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscript.
  10. Authors must report any errors they discover in their published paper to the Editors. 

Section C: Reviewers’ responsibilities

  1. Reviewers should keep all information regarding papers confidential and treat them as privileged information. 
  2. Reviews should be conducted objectively, with no personal criticism of the author
  3. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments
  4. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  5. Reviewers should also call to the Editor in Chief’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
  6. Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. 

Section D: Editors’ responsibilities

  1. Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article.
  2. Editors are responsible for the contents and overall quality of the publication.
  3. Editors should always consider the needs of the authors and the readers when attempting to improve the publication.
  4. Editors should guarantee the quality of the papers and the integrity of the academic record.
  5. Editors should publish errata pages or make corrections when needed.
  6. Editors should have a clear picture of a research’s funding sources.
  7. Editors should base their decisions solely one the papers’ importance, originality, clarity and relevance to publication’s scope.
  8. Editors should not reverse their decisions nor overturn the ones of previous editors without serious reason. 
  9. Editors should preserve the anonymity of reviewers. 
  10. Editors should ensure that all research material they publish conforms to internationally accepted ethical guidelines.
  11. Editors should only accept a paper when reasonably certain.
  12. Editors should act if they suspect misconduct, whether a paper is published or unpublished, and make all reasonable attempts to persist in obtaining a resolution to the problem.
  13. Editors should not reject papers based on suspicions, they should have proof of misconduct.
  14. Editors should not allow any conflicts of interest between staff, authors, reviewers and board members.

 

Retraction

The papers published in the Citrawira journal of advertising and visual communication will be consider to retract in the publication if :

  1. They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g. data fabri-cation) or honest error (e.g. miscalculation or experimental error)
  2. The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper crossreferencing, permission orjustification (i.e. cases of redundant publication)
  3. it constitutes plagiarism
  4. it reports unethical research
