Studio Apartment Interior Design with Urban Smart Living Concept: Space Optimization Strategies

Abstract
Solo is one of the cities that has been named the “Student City” or City of Intellectuals. There are many universities in Solo. Students from various regions need a place to live while completing their education in Solo. Recently, an apartment called Solo Urbana Residence has been built. The most popular apartment is the studio type. With an area of 18m2, the interior space of a studio type apartment is demanded to be able to meet the living needs of its residents. Designing a space must use the right method. The interior design method of Solo Urbana Residence includes observation, design process, production process, and installation. The researcher uses the result of the data observation as a reference in carrying out the design process. After the data is collected, the designer begins the design process starting with layouts and 3D drawings. The concept used for this design is modern minimalism, where the concept prioritizes function and minimizes form. After the client approves the design, it will immediately enter the production process and continue installation at the location.
