Retraction & Withdrawal
Keteg: Jurnal Pengetahuan, Pemikiran dan Kajian Tentang Bunyi is committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record. We recognize the importance of preserving published articles and ensuring the reliability of the academic literature. Therefore, our policies regarding manuscript withdrawal, retraction, and correction strictly follow the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Article Withdrawal (Prior to Publication)
Article withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript that has been submitted but not yet formally published.
- Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript during the initial screening phase before it enters the peer-review process.
- Withdrawal during the peer-review process is strongly discouraged. Withdrawing a manuscript after reviewers have been assigned and invested their time is considered unethical and a waste of editorial resources.
- If authors have compelling reasons to withdraw their manuscript during the review or editing process, they must submit a formal "Letter of Withdrawal" signed by all authors, explicitly stating the justifiable reasons to the Editor-in-Chief.
- Keteg reserves the right to impose a temporary ban on future submissions from authors who arbitrarily withdraw their manuscripts without valid academic reasons or those who attempt concurrent submissions to other journals.
Article Retraction (Post-Publication)
Article retraction refers to the removal or invalidation of a published article. The journal will consider retracting a publication under the following circumstances:
- There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major errors (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error), data fabrication, or falsification.
- The article constitutes plagiarism, including unauthorized use of another's work or self-plagiarism (text-recycling/redundant publication).
- The research reports unethical practices or violates fundamental ethical guidelines.
- The authors failed to disclose a major conflict of interest that significantly influenced the interpretation of the work.
The Retraction Process
When a retraction is necessary, the journal will act promptly to correct the academic record. The original article will remain accessible on the journal's website but will be clearly marked with a "RETRACTED" watermark across all pages of the PDF. A separate Retraction Notice will be published, formally detailing the reasons for the retraction and identifying the party initiating the retraction (the authors or the editorial board).
Article Correction (Errata and Corrigenda)
For minor errors that do not invalidate the scientific substance of the article (such as typographical errors, formatting issues, or minor author affiliation corrections), the journal will publish an Erratum (if the error was made by the journal) or a Corrigendum (if the error was made by the authors). The original article will be updated, and the correction will be linked to the published paper.
